Professional Certified Educational Therapist, PCET

As a Washington State Certified Teacher since 1995 (with the occasional time off in raising children), and a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist for the past seven years, I harbor a deep passion for individuals who learn outside the "normal" educational frameworks. I am committed to fostering dynamic thinking through neuroplasticity and recognizing the diverse needs of learners of all ages. I am dedicated to providing assistance through various methods that empower all students and instill the necessary tools for educational success. I have trained and specialized in learning as well as understanding the due diligence to those individuals who do not learn under our “normal” educational guidelines.

My desire to work with students with learning challenges arose when our youngest child was diagnosed with ADHD and soon after, due to my husband’s job, our family moved to Tokyo, Japan. This change created strife, stress and anxiety as to how and where our son would receive help for his diagnosis.  The American School in Japan where our children were expected to attend, did not want to admit our son due to the lack of resources the school was able to provide for neurodivergent learners. I took it upon myself to then immerse and learn as much as I could about students of all ages who are struggling in their learning. The results were profound, and I knew then that I had found my true passion within education.

Located in the Greater Renton area, I am ready to meet learners individually or through virtual on-line sessions.
